Since 1995, One Family has been working to help destitute families who are victims of war. When the conflict in the Balkans was underway, One Family got involved by serving as a link between concerned people and businesses in Northern California and refugee families over there. We reached people in the small out-of-the-way villages and refugee camps that were not being helped by the larger aid organizations.
Since then One Family has expanded it’s efforts to include the needs of street children and impoverished families in Latin America. It has joined with local organizations to work on a Rural Poverty Project to help families in Northern California and it responded to two natural disasters by helping out in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the devastating 2005 earthquake in Pakistan.
Through the generosity of many caring people, over 120 tons of warm clothing, food, medicines and medical supplies have been donated and delivered by One Family. Pictures and articles about some of these shipments can be found in our newsletters.
Considering that there are still refugee camps in Bosnia, and 40 million "Street Children" in the Latin America countries, it would be easy to be overwhelmed by the enormity of the problems around us. One Family is committed to reach out to the limits of our resources and make a difference a little at a time.
One Family is always looking for good usable items that will help improve the lives of the underprivileged. Our “Wish List” and contact information is on the back of each of our newsletters.
Our organization is registered as a 501 (c) (3) Non-profit Organization.
